It could be either way depending on what kind of plan your employer has set up.

You should be able to tell from your pay statements. If you can't, ask your employer.

Your pay stub should have a break down of what went where.
Taxes are usually taken out first thing, then other things such as credit union, health ins. and so on.
Medical expenses, including ins. are deductible IF they exceed a certain % of you income (long form).
And simple enough, you may be able to ask your employer or someone that does payroll. (Hope you get a refund:)

You should be able to get that information from your HR/company. A lot of companies have what they call a "cafeteria plan" which pays your insurance first then the rest of the income is taxed.

Vitamins A, C and D contained by apples are among the most important as they provide teh daily tonus. That's why you're advised to eat apples every day. Apple juice usually gathers all these vitamins and gives them to you in an easier administrative way and faster. Here's my source:

- Studies done by the SDA church show that vegetarians live 10 to 11 years longer. Most their members are vegetarians.
- A vegetarian diet is very low in cholesterol.
- Farm animals are pumped full of antibiotics and groth hormones.

For more reasons read -

I pay mine with pre-tax dollars because my employer gives me that oppurtunity. It actually says on my paystub that the amount taken from me was pre-tax. If it doesn't state it on your paystub, you'd have to ask whomever does the payroll at your place of business to confirm how the deductions were taken from you.

Let me put it this way…
All of the problems of a vegetarian diet (like possible lack of protein) are avoidable by making sure you’re still eating the right things.
Example: Lack of protein can be solved by eating things like rice and beans, or egg whites if you’re not fully vegan.

On the other hand, all of the problems NOT being a vegetarian (like increased chance for obesity), are avoidable as well, by, once again, making sure you’re eating the right things.
Example: Meat eaters are more likely to be obese, but it’s probably because specific ones aren’t watching what they eat much at all (whereas vegetarians have to watch what they eat at least a little more just to be vegetarian). However, I personally have lost fat by eating lots of lean chicken breast…so eating the right meats can have the opposite effect, making you healthier.

Whether you are a vegetarian or not, watching what you eat, and eating healthy (possibly seeking out a nutritionist to assist you), will help you to be incredibly healthy.
Main point: You don’t NEED to eat meat to be healthy. You don’t NEED to refrain from eating meet to be healthy.
Final note: There may be cases where this isn't true, but you'll know if you're one of these people, and you'll probably be officially diagnosed with something by your doctor.

Premiums are tax deductable as a part of your medical expenses if you are filing long form. You add up every co-pay you made to doctors, hospitals, and prescriptions and the total cost you paid for these premiums and then you get a percent of that total back on your taxes. Anything that you paid for any type of health care is deductable as long as you have a receipt (or in the case of health premiums you pay) they are on the W2.
